Cellulite is a geometric display typeface I designed as part of a series of visual posters celebrating women’s bodies.
Each word acts as a frame: photographs of women are revealed through the letterforms using masking techniques, making the typography a structured lens through which bodies are seen.
The typeface itself is stark, bold, and highly geometric — evoking barcodes and standardized systems. It covers large portions of the page and is vertically stretched, echoing the rigid norms and expectations imposed on women’s bodies.
In contrast, the photographs on each poster embrace curves, folds, softness and strength — challenging beauty standards while reclaiming the word “cellulite” and many others as something powerful, unapologetic, and worth showing off.
Each poster in the series is a visual affirmation, mixing bold type with vibrant compositions as an ode to real, unretouched bodies.
